Bara Blast 04.02.15

Dear Bara,

If you want to see what Pastor Joel is so fired up about or you just like getting dizzy, watch this:

Glow Egg Hunt - Invite and Volunteer

At Bara, we like to do things a little differently and fun.  So we're going to just that as we host our first ever Glow Egg Hunt.  THIS Saturday night April 4th, at the Byron Nelson High School practice football fields we will be hiding over 2,500 Glow in the Dark Easter Eggs.  We'll also have face painting, a bounce house and much more.  We want to use this outreach event to invite our friends and neighbors to as well as Easter Sunday the following morning.  We will need a bunch of help with serving popcorn, face painting and running the bounce houses as well as all that will be helping with the Egg Hunt itself such as prepping and hiding the eggs, sign up and much more.  The Egg Hunt starts at 8pm but we could use your help starting around 6pm.  Please serve if you can but definitely please help us spread the word and invite all your friends.  If you would like to serve or have any questions, please contact Ryan Bradley at Ryan@barachurch.com

Live Like Josh 3 Year Celebration

On Sunday, April 12th, Bara has the privilege of hosting the Live Like Josh 3 Year Celebration in honor of the life lived by BNHS student Joshua Hernandez who passed away suddenly on April 14, 2012.  Students and adults looked up to Josh in how he carried himself, how he loved others, and how he loved Jesus.  We are honored to partner with the Live Like Josh Foundation and the Hernandez family to keep telling the story of the life Josh lived and how his story is still affecting people today.  For more information or to see powerful images that have taken place over the past three years go to www.barachurch.com/llj.  We hope to see you there!

BSM News

We are encouraging all students who are willing and able to come help serve at the Glow Egg Hunt this Saturday night.  We will be able to sign off for Community Service Hours if that would benefit any students as well.  Then on Sunday, since it's Easter, we're encouraging all students to enjoy that day with their families, and we will not be gathering.  Stay tuned for upcoming events in BSM starting with the Live Like Josh 3 Year Celebration next Sunday, April 12th.

If you have any questions about Bara Student Ministries (BSM), please contact our Youth Pastor, Ryan Bradley at Ryan@barachurch.com.  For more information on BSM, please visit www.barachurch.com/bsm.

Gimme Five

I f you missed this past Sunday, during service we are extended the reach for a wonderful chance to volunteer in our B-Kids ministry.  We are in need of teachers and we are asking people to Gimme Five, or one Sunday a month for the next five months to teach our kids.  We are looking for volunteers who'd be willing to serve in nursery (birth-2 Years), Wee Kids (3-5 Years) and BKids (Elementary).   If you can't do five times, please just let us know you're willing and dates you'd be unavailable.  Don't miss this great opportunity to love on our sweet children.  If you'd like to volunteer, please contact Ryan Bradley at Ryan@barachurch.com.

B-Kids

Children will learn that Jesus is our risen Savior and that He came back to life on Easter. The key passage for Wee Kids will be from John 19 – Jesus dies on the cross. B-Kids passage will come from Matthew 28:1-10

Arise and Build

If you love accomplishing a lot at one time (think: one stop shopping) then you need to come check out our Arise and Build Prayer Nights every Tuesday evening at 7:00pm at the BARA offices. In less than an hour, you can praise The Lord for all He is doing in and through Arise and Build while you answer His call to pray audaciously for what is to come and if that wasn't enough: you will get to build new relationships with your BARA family!! One of the sweet byproducts of our Prayer Nights for those of us that have been participating is that we have experienced the joy of getting to know each other better in ways that can only happen by praying and spending time together. Give it a try and see how God can use a time of prayer devoted to building a building to actually build His church! For more information and directions to the Bara Church office click here.
