I hope that you are enjoying the beautiful weather. But not too much. It would be hard to think that we can enjoy it with the troubles other's are experiencing in Nepal and Baltimore, right?
Okay, I'll admit it. That was dirty. It was also confusing.
Speaking of confusing... (See what I did there? I gave myself my very own custom segue)
I'm going to preach a message on Decisive Prayer from 1 Kings 18 and the story of Elijah this Sunday in an attempt to answer the question: "Can we ask God to give us a clear answer to our prayers?"
Because the opposite of clarity is confusion. And nobody likes confusion.
A lot of you have shared with me some powerful stories of Impossible Prayers. I've been more challenged by this series than any other in Bara's history and from what I've heard, so have many of you. If you've missed the first two messages or want to see the bumper, click here. I encourage you to share them on social media too.
Before I let you go, I'd like to thank all of you who have been inviting your friends to our Sunday Gatherings. We've gotten to start friendships with a lot of beautiful new people the past month which is a blessing! And our first ever G E N E S I S was terrific! For more information on G E N E S I S or to sign up for the next one, click here.
But Bara is way more than sermons and gatherings and joining a church. We are about knowing Christ (discipleship) and making him known (evangelism) in everything we do. And not just in everything the gathered church (2 hours a week) does, but most importantly, in everything, we as the scattered/sent/commissioned church (166 other hours a week) do!
May God continue to give each one of us the grace to follow him and share with others, not only the Gospel, but our lives as well.
Keep praying those impossible prayers!
I love you!
- Joel

B-Kids
The children will learn that god offers us forgiveness and salvation if we will repent and choose to follow Jesus. The Bible verse will be “There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.” Luke 24-47. In Wee Kids we will learn how important it is to be kind to others. Our Bible story will be: Jesus welcomes the children (Mark 10:13-16.) The Bible verse will be “Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so all will go well with you.” Deuteronomy 6:18.

G E N E S I S
G E N E S I S is your beginning with Bara. At G E N E S I S, you will see who we are (our mission, vision, values, and core commitments.) You will hear about our journey (our past, present and future.) You will learn what we do (how we connect and serve.) You can get your questions answered and much more. Contact genesis@barachurch.com.
Arise and Build
If you love accomplishing a lot at one time (think: one stop shopping) then you need to come check out our Arise and Build Prayer Nights every Tuesday evening at 7:00pm at the BARA offices. In less than an hour, you can praise The Lord for all He is doing in and through Arise and Build while you answer His call to pray audaciously for what is to come and if that wasn't enough: you will get to build new relationships with your BARA family!! One of the sweet byproducts of our Prayer Nights for those of us that have been participating is that we have experienced the joy of getting to know each other better in ways that can only happen by praying and spending time together. Give it a try and see how God can use a time of prayer devoted to building a building to actually build His church! For more information and directions to the Bara Church office click here.
