Christmas is synonymous with gifts.

By the time the year is over, Americans will have spent over 630 Billion dollars on Christmas Gifts! It has been said that one of the main reasons we have the custom of giving and receiving presents at Christmas, is to remind us of the presents given to Jesus by the Wise Men: Frankincense, Gold and Myrrh. But that is not the only gift giving going down in the Christmas story!

When Jesus arrived as that tiny baby (admit it, most of you just thought of Will Ferrel's voice) he not only received gifts, but he also brought gifts.

We've heard it said that "Jesus is the greatest gift" and that is true! But the gifts that He brings with him: love, hope, joy and peace, are really, really good gifts! But the gift giving doesn't stop with Jesus giving us gifts.

When Jesus is born in our hearts, our lives should be filled with and overflowing with love, hope, joy and peace. Others should receive the gifts Jesus brought to us through us!

Let's celebrate the gift of Jesus, appreciate the gifts he brings to us, and dedicate our hearts to giving those gifts to others by sharing with them the Gospel which is still good news of great joy for all people!
