We're not culture. We are the church. In fact, we are Bara Church. And we hold fast to the words of Paul in Acts 20:27 - "I did not shrink back from preaching to you the whole counsel of God."
So if it's in the Bible, we're gonna preach it. Even if it's painful. Because Bara believes that nothing's too painful to preach.

1. A Four Letter F-Word That's Not Taboo In Church
Fasting is all about having a hunger for Jesus. It's not about the denial of food - it's about the denial of self. Fasting feeds humility. It's never about the stomach - it's about the heart.
It was expected by Jesus.
Fasting is not a trick to get God to pay more attention to us, but rather a tool to get us to pay more attention to God.

2. What Must I Do?
In the Bible, giving is less about an amount, and more about an attitude. I practice the tine, but I will preach cheerful, obedient, and priority giving.
The value of our lives will not be determined by what we got, but what we gave. Our generosity is less about too much greed, and more about too little gratitude.

3. The Rest Of Us
To many, the Ten Commandments are a great big spiritual grocer list to be checked off. But, God did not spend more time spelling out the Fourth Commandment than the others for us to fight over whether we must obey it.
Rest! Fasting is self-denial; giving is self-denial; resting is self-denial.
