Our culture has seen the fascination of the selfie phenomenon on the rise. It’s a trendy concept to try and capture yourself, your image, your identity in a photo that you take yourself.
Pastor Joel submits the idea that we can not capture or realize our identity in it’s totality without help. We need God to show us who we truly are.
The Selfie series is all about knowing our identity in Christ. The book of Ephesians says much on the subject. In order to live the way we ought to, we first have to understand who we are.

God must work in us before He can work through us. Once we are saved, we aren’t sinless, but we should sin less.
We forget who we are. Our identity is in our present and our future as God sees us; not in our past as how we see it.

You don’t get your identity from your affliction, but your identity will get you through your affliction.
